Spiked Vanilla Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

December is here and that means long nights snuggled on the couch watching Hallmark Christmas Movies. If you’re looking to turn in your glass of wine for something a little more festive, than look no further than this spiked vanilla cinnamon hot chocolate recipe. This is the perfect addition for those chilly nights in!

2 servings

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups milk

3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup Baileys Vanilla Cinnamon Irish Cream (or more to taste)

Toppings: whipped cream, marshmallows, cinnamon, chocolate sauce, caramel

 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place milk, cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate chips, and cinnamon in a saucepan set over medium heat
  2. Whisk frequently until the cocoa powder and sugar have dissolved, the chocolate chips have melted, and the mixture is hot (do not boil)
  3. Add the Baileys and vanilla extract and stir until heated through
  4. Transfer to mugs and serve immediately
  5. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate sauce, cinnamon, or caramel, if desired

 

Notes:

You can switch up this recipe by using any Baileys Irish Cream Flavors or you can add a splash of strong hot coffee to the hot chocolate
