About Us

Before, blazing the event industry, I spent over a decade as a mechanical engineer, holding positions that involved event management and design, from an automotive perspective believe it or not. In 2008, I blended my technical and creative brain and opened VAE. Everyday I get to work my dream job, creating event experiences for our clients. Curating events and adding the VAE spark gets me fired up, then to see our clients reaction is truly gratifying. When I am not working I am on the hunt for my next adventure to taste great food, traveling to the world's greatest destinations and screaming YOLO during an outdoor activity. I live for an amazing experience!

My interest in event planning began when I was 15, watching wedding and design shows. I turned my interest into a career by getting a degree in Recreation and Event Management from Central Michigan University. My design aesthetic can be described as romantic, classic, and luxurious. In my free time you can find me cuddled up on the couch with my dog and a margarita

I consider myself a veteran in the industry, with over 35 years of experience in catering, event and hotel sales.  Witnessing the events industry evolve has been fascinating on many levels. It has challenged me to master my sales approach and close process.  You see, the prospect of “new” fires my enthusiasm.  Native of Colorado, three years ago I moved to Detroit and soon after started my role at VAE.  Favorite part of my job is introducing VAE to prospective clients, it’s exciting to share the level of service we provide being a small company.  In my free time, I spend time with my husband, two daughters and traveling to sporting events with my athletic  granddaughter.
